Copper Cable Lugs

What are the international standards followed by Flare Electricals for Cable Lugs?

Flare Cable Lugs are manufactured in accordance with DIN, IS, BS, and IEC standards. We can manufacture cable  lugs according to customer requirements.

 

What is the grade of copper used by Flare Electricals for manufacturing Cable Lugs?

Flare cable lugs are manufactured using high grade EC or ETP copper. Since EC copper has a purity of 99.9% and it gives conductivity of 100% IACS, they are widely used in the electrical industry.

 

Why are cable lugs Tin plated?

Copper reacts with oxygen and a thin layer of oxide is formed on the surface, which decreases conductivity of copper. Cable lugs are Tin plated to prevent them from corrosion.

 

What is the thickness of tin plating on the copper cable lugs?

Flare cable lugs are normally tin electro plated to a minimum thickness of 6 to 7 microns. This can also be increased according to customer requirement.

 

Can Flare Electricals manufacture copper cable lugs according to drawings and dimensions?

Yes, we are capable of manufacturing copper cable lugs according to customer requirements, based on drawings or samples.

Our range of copper cable lugs are manufactured for use up to 33kv voltage rating.

 

What is the range of copper cable lugs offered by Flare Electricals?

We offer range of copper cable lugs from 0.5mm2 to 1000mm2.

What is the International standard followed by Flare Electricals for cable glands?

Flare cable glands are manufactured in accordance with BS 6121: 1989- part 1 that is similar to the new European standard for cable gland EN 50262: 1999.
